Athens Regional Medical Center is the Latest Network Addition for CIGNA HealthCare of Georgia

CIGNA HealthCare of Georgia continues to add prominent Georgia health care facilities to its network in an effort to create broader access to high-quality health care services for its current and future members. CIGNA’s most recent agreement is with the Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Ga.

“By adding one of Northeast Georgia’s largest and fastest growing health care institutions, we are enhancing the value we bring to our members,” said Scott Evelyn, president and general manager, CIGNA HealthCare of Georgia. “Our agreement with Athens Regional Medical Center reinforces our commitment to build our network in Georgia and provide the greatest opportunity for high-quality health care for our members.”

Athens Regional Medical Center is a 315-bed full-service health care facility, which has been serving the community for over 75 years. The medical center includes an open heart facility, midwifery services, a heart catheterization laboratory, rehabilitation services, a lab outreach facility, a neonatal intensive care unit, an outpatient surgery center, a free-standing outpatient radiology center, a diagnostic and therapeutic oncology unit, laser surgery facilities, lithotripsy; Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI); a 24-bed Intensive Care Unit; a diabetes education program and a neurosurgery unit.
