Telemedicus Adds Former Air Force Surgeon General to Aid in Foreign Sales Opportunities

Telemedicus, Inc. (OTC:TMDI) announced today that Paul K. Carlton, M.D., F.A.C.S., Lt. Gen. U.S.A.F. (Ret.), former Air Force Surgeon General, is being retained as a business consultant for national and foreign sales opportunities. Dr. Carlton is currently the director of the Texas A&M Health Science Center Office of Homeland Security.

Dr. Carlton will be involved with testing and research for TMDI's products and business concepts under the agreement through the HSC Business Innovation Zone Inc. (HSC BIZ). TMDI will also participate in two annual "think tank" sessions to network and share information about current projects, new products and business concepts. Dr. Carlton will advise with respect to prosecuting patent applications for new products and processes devised by Telemedicus, with the potential of sharing the mutual benefits of any patents or other intellectual property that may result from his efforts.

Dr. Carlton also will conduct meetings with potential clients and customers worldwide for the products, business concepts and other assets of Telemedicus. HSC BIZ Inc. will host an annual conference for potential customers and clients where Telemedicus will be able to showcase its products and business concepts.

More About Dr. Carlton

Paul K. Carlton Jr. received his Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1969 and his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Colorado in 1973. Dr. Carlton serves as director of the Texas A&M Health Science Center Office of Homeland Security. He joined the HSC faculty in November 2002. Dr. Carlton also served as the Surgeon General of the Air Force from 1999 to 2002.

As the Surgeon General of the Air Force, he served as a functional manager of the U.S. Air Force Medical Service. He had authority to commit resources worldwide for the Air Force Medical Service to make decisions affecting the delivery of medical services and to develop plans, programs and procedures to support peacetime and wartime medical service missions. Dr. Carlton is a fellow and former Air Force governor of the American College of Surgeons. He was named a consultant in general surgery to the Air Force Surgeon General in 1981. He conceptualized and implemented the first Air Force rapid-response surgical team in Europe -- the flying ambulance surgical trauma team. During Operation Desert Storm, he commanded the 1702nd Air Refueling Wing Contingency Hospital, completing 32 combat support missions and 140 combat flying hours in the C-21, C-130, KC-10 and KC-135. He has published extensively in medical literature. He is an 11,000-case surgeon.
