April 21, 2008
Shoppers Drug Mart has announced that it will remove select products containing bisphenol A from its shelves in response to concerns regarding the safety of the ingredient.
Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix stores across the US will remove plastic baby bottles, drinking cups, bottle liners and reusable beverage containers that are known to contain bisphenol A (BPA) from store shelves.
Joe Magnacca, executive vice president of merchandising and category management, said: “Shoppers Drug Mart’s top priority is the health and safety of our patients and customers and we take extraordinary care to ensure that the products we sell meet or exceed prescribed quality and safety standards.”
