Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, has signed a five-year agreement to continue as the publisher for the American Academy of Neurology. The four-journal contract includes the prestigious professional research journal, Neurology®, and Neurology Now®, a magazine for patients and their families. LWW has been the publisher of Neurology since 1997 and launched AAN's highly successful Neurology Now in 2005.
"As the population ages and advancements in neurological disease treatment become ever more critical, we are pleased to work with a publisher who supports our mission of providing high quality research and information to both medical professionals and patients," said Bruce Polsky, Chief Executive Officer of AAN Enterprises, Inc., and responsible for all AAN Press publications.
"We are honored that the AAN has chosen to continue our publishing relationship at such an important time of growth and discovery in the field of neurology," said Betsy Jones, EVP and GM of journal publishing at Wolters Kluwer Health. "With new developments in disease areas like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and multiple sclerosis on the horizon, our goal is to ensure that the highest quality professional, peer-reviewed research and information is made available through a trusted and premier medical society like the AAN."
The publishing agreement covers the following AAN journals and publications:
Neurology®, the leading clinical neurology journal worldwide. Neurology is directed to physicians concerned with diseases and conditions of the nervous system. It has a total circulation of over 20,000 health professionals.
Continuum: Lifelong Learning in Neurology®, a topic-based self-study continuing medical education publication. It allows neurologists to learn at their own pace while earning up to 60 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ a year.
Neurology Today, a bi-weekly tabloid newspaper covering important clinical, research, policy, practice, and other news relevant to neurologists.
