Ibri Celebrates Occupational Health Day

According to Oman News: Dr. Ahmed bin Abdul Qader al Ghassani, Undersecretary of the Health Ministry for Health Affairs today presided over a Seminar on “Occupational Health,” at the Vocational Training Centre in the wilayat of Ibri. The seminar was organized by the Health Committee to mark the World occupational Day of Vocational Health. Sheikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Wali of Ibri said in his speech that occupational diseases, and occupational related injuries happen at the work place and maintaining healthy environment could prevent such diseases, he explained. Therefore a study should be conducted on work environment to discover hazardous places.After that, the seminar activities began, which included presentation of four working papers on health dimension of occupational health, occupational diseases types and ways of protection, work casualties and occupational diseases as per provisions ethics of the Omani Social Insurance law, and all that related to security and safety.During the seminar, practical occupational safety procedures in work environment were performed.
