Bush Gives Kennedy a Get-Well Call

Posted on: Monday, 19 May 2008, 21:00 CDT

Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., took a phone call from President George W. Bush Monday while recuperating in a Massachusetts hospital, the senator's office said.

Kennedy's office said Bush called the cell phone of the senator's wife, sending his best wishes and telling her to take care of my friend, The Hill reported.

Kennedy and Bush worked closely together on several key White House initiatives, including on education and immigration reform.

Kennedy, 76, was hospitalized at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after suffering a seizure Saturday at his home in Hyannis Port, Mass., but doctors have not determined the cause.

Other tests were administered during the day Monday, Kennedy's office said.
