Aetna Names Eileen Auen Head of Health Care Delivery, Medical Management and Geographic Development

Aetna (NYSE:AET) today announced that Eileen Auen will join the company as the new head of health care delivery, medical management, and geographic development. In this role, Auen will be responsible for enhancing Aetna's competitive position through targeted network development activities, the implementation of innovative medical management and reporting capabilities, and collaborating across customer segments to drive profitable growth at the local market level. Auen will be based in Aetna's Hartford, Conn., corporate headquarters and report to President Mark T. Bertolini.

Auen has more than 15 years of experience in senior level positions across the managed care and financial services industries. Most recently, she served as chief executive officer of APS Healthcare, Inc., a leading provider of specialty health care solutions that cover more than 20 million members in the United States and Puerto Rico. Prior to her position as chief executive officer, Auen held the positions of president of HealthNet of the Northeast, president of CIGNA Healthcare-Southeast Region, and senior vice president of Intracorp, CIGNA's care management subsidiary, which served more than 20 million members nationally.
Ms. Auen is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Disease Management Association for America. She received an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor's degree in economics and finance from Towson University.
