Avalon Healthcare Signs Hospital System Contract With Broward Health
Avalon Healthcare, Inc., Florida’s fast growing statewide individual and group health insurance plan, signed a direct provider agreement with the Broward Health System based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The agreement, which became effective May 1, 2008, includes the four hospitals and ancillary services and facilities owned and operated by the system.
Hospitals included in the agreement are Broward General Medical Center, including the Chris Evert Children’s Hospital, North Broward Medical Center, Imperial Point Medical Center and the Coral Springs Medical Center. The four hospitals provide over 1,500 hospital beds to Broward County residents.

Over the past 18 months, Avalon Healthcare has signed direct hospital contracts with the BayCare Health System in Tampa (nine hospitals), Mt. Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach, Winter Haven Hospital, IASIS Hospital System in Tampa (four hospitals), the University Community Hospital System in Tampa (three hospitals), Tenet Hospitals located in South Florida (10 hospitals) and Bartow Regional Hospital.
