Provista Life Sciences Selected to Represent Phoenix at 2008 BIO International Convention
Provista Life Sciences LLC, a diagnostic development and commercialization company, has been selected as one of five Phoenix-based organizations to participate in the Biotechnology Industry Organization’s 2008 BIO International Convention, to be held in San Diego June 17-20. Provista Life Sciences was chosen because of its work in the development of groundbreaking blood tests for the early detection of breast cancer and cancers in women as well as a test for the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease. The company most recently introduced its BT Test, or Biomarker Translation Test, to the market, designed to assist physicians in making an earlier and more accurate diagnosis of breast cancer when used in conjunction with a mammogram.

The 2008 BIO International Convention will demonstrate the biotechnology industry’s global focus with international case studies, global health breakout sessions and receptions that spotlight examples of biotechnology innovation from around the world. Provista Life Sciences will be on-hand in the City of Phoenix booth in the Arizona Pavilion to discuss its three pioneering blood tests.
In addition to the BT Test, which can help detect breast cancer when it is 96 percent survivable, Provista Life Sciences is developing the RCP Test(TM) to aid with the detection of women’s reproductive cancers, including ovarian, uterine and cervical cancers. When used in conjunction with other early detection methods, such as mammograms and Pap smears, the test can help doctors accurately diagnose cancer sooner. Provista Life Sciences is in the final stages of clinical studies and hopes to bring the test to market in 2009.
Provista Life Sciences also is meeting the need for a simple, accurate Alzheimer’s test with the LymPro Test(R), a blood test that is designed to work in conjunction with traditional diagnostic methods to help physicians develop a more timely and accurate diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. The test is currently undergoing clinical studies and will be available later this year.
