Fathersdayfund.Org Promotes Cancer Research Donations for Father's Day

Posted on: Tuesday, 3 June 2008, 15:01 CDT

Today in recognition of all those affected by cancer, Father's Day Fund announced the launch of its website, www.fathersdayfund.org, an innovative web-based tool that connects cancer research centers to individual contributors in the spirit of Father's Day giving.

"Father's Day is a good time to think about what we are grateful for, and to help those who have struggled with this terrible disease," said Jordan Royer, co-founder of Father's Day Fund. "We are pleased to take this step towards making this day more meaningful and increase support for cancer research."

www.fathersdayfund.org serves as a valuable resource for those who want to help find a cure for cancer and offers national research centers as fund beneficiaries. 100% of the funds contributed go directly to the cancer research center or foundation of choice.

After witnessing personal struggles with cancer by loved ones, co-founders Jordan Royer and Mike Jacob sought to create Father's Day Fund as a meaningful alternative to traditional gift ideas; rather than ties, tools or other ordinary Father's Day gifts, they believe that finding a cure for cancer is the most coveted present a father could receive.

"By encouraging people to contribute directly to cancer research and promoting the concept of giving a donation for a Father's Day gift, we see www.fathersdayfund.org making giving a meaningful gift easy," said Jacob, co-founder and director. "This is the perfect opportunity for us to help people make a difference."

Father's Day Fund has partnered with prominent cancer research centers that have agreed to promote the concept of making gifts to cancer research this Father's Day. These include: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research in Seattle, UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center, USC Norris Cancer Center, Stanford Cancer Center, and the Cancer Research Center at the University of Hawai'i. Funds contributed will enable world-class researchers to continue their work in the fields of prevention, detection and treatment of cancer and related diseases.
