Pano Yeracaris Appointed VP and Chief Medical Officer at Network Health

Pano Yeracaris, MD, MPH was appointed vice president and chief medical officer at Network Health, a Medicaid managed care organization serving Massachusetts' residents. Dr. Yeracaris brings more than two decades of medical practice and leadership experience to Network Health. Network Health is one of four managed care health plans contracted by the state to provide health insurance coverage for the state's Medicaid population.

Dr. Yeracaris will be responsible for providing medical oversight for the health plan's clinical affairs, which includes medical management, behavioral health, pharmacy services, and quality control. He will also oversee the plan's medical directors in charge of clinical programs for members with a variety of special needs, such as asthma, diabetes, maternal and child health, and physical disabilities. In addition, Dr. Yeracaris will provide senior guidance to the informatics team, which collects and analyzes data that is used to support the delivery of health care and promote health.

Prior to joining Network Health, Dr. Yeracaris served for more than six years as chief medical officer and medical director of Health Services Partnership of Dorchester, a joint venture of Dorchester House Multi-Service Center and Codman Square Health Center, two Boston community health centers. Previously, Dr. Yeracaris served for 13 years as physician leader at Health Care Plan, a health maintenance organization in Buffalo, New York, where he was also an assistant clinical professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Yeracaris was a consultant for Capital University of Medical Sciences in Beijing, China and for the USAID Managed Care Project in Zimbabwe.

Dr. Yeracaris received his bachelor's and a master's degree in public health from Harvard University. He earned his medical degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo, and completed his residency in family medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Yeracaris is a member of the board of directors at New England Eye Institute and serves on the Massachusetts Health Drug Utilization Review Board.
