Rodale announced today that SVP Dave Zinczenko has been named Editorial Director of Women’s Health, effective immediately. He will now assume editorial leadership of Women’s Health in addition to his current responsibilities as Editor-in-Chief of Men’s Health and Best Life Editorial Director. Zinczenko will continue to report to Steven Pleshette Murphy, President and CEO of Rodale. VP and Editor-in-Chief of Women’s Health Tina Johnson will report to Zinczenko.

“The next step in the evolution of Women’s Health is to build on its current success and extend it across multiple platforms and products,” said Murphy. “Men’s Health is the world’s leading men’s magazine, largely because under Dave’s leadership, he and his team have extended the brand to include books, international, subscription services, and other digital properties. We see tremendous opportunities for Women’s Health across these many platforms, and Dave will help Women’s Health accelerate its brand-building efforts and move ahead on the trail that Men’s Health has blazed.”

Women’s Health is one of the fastest-growing magazines in the country. Following its launch in October 2005, the title has generated tremendous consumer demand, raising its rate base four times. This year, the magazine earned the No. 1 spot on Adweek’s “Top 10 under 50″ Hot List, which recognizes advertising growth and editorial excellence. This is the second year in a row that the magazine was named to the Hot List. Women’s Health now enjoys over a million circulation and is expanding its international footprint.

Men’s Health is the world’s largest men’s magazine brand. Adweek named Dave Zinczenko 2008 Editor of the Year, recognizing his proven success building brands across a wide variety of media platforms. The MensHealth.com site has seen 100+% traffic growth over the past year. Last month, the site recorded more than 40 million page views. The magazine continues to set records on the newsstands, and there are currently 39 editions of Men’s Health worldwide. Over the last two years, Men’s Health-branded books have sold more than 1.5 million copies. Zinczenko’s hit book franchises include The Abs Diet and Eat This Not That!, which to date has close to 1 million copies in print.
