YourRxCard Launches ”Ask The Pharmacist” Program
“Providing an unparalleled savings on prescription medications nationwide is not the only service that should be expected from a prescription discount card company,” said Rex Bowden, Jr. of YourRxCard.com “We’re an industry that provides a resource for those looking to save money on their prescription costs. By having resources like the ‘Ask The Pharmacist’ program, we’re providing our members, who may not have otherwise sought assistance, a place to ask their questions.”
The “Ask The Pharmacist” program began in May 2008 as a way to answer pharmaceutical related questions from the members of YourRxCard.com while providing insight into the healthcare industry. The ability to ask an experienced pharmacist, doctor, professor, and writer like Dr. Samuel D. Uretsky has provided these individuals with answers they may have otherwise gone without. “Your best resources for information about the prices of prescription drugs are your physician and pharmacist,” said Dr. Uretsky. “Since your physician is generally the person who makes the decision about what drugs you pay for (and) your pharmacist doesn’t make choices, but does have the information about which drugs are on your insurers’ formulary (…) and whether a drug is available as a low cost generic.” On top of answering the questions posed by the members of YourRxCard.com, Dr. Uretsky has also provided an in depth view of the current happenings within our healthcare system.
While patients do currently have the ability to visit or call a pharmacist or physician to have their questions answered, few actually take advantage of these services. The likelihood the patient contacting the pharmacist greatly decreases if the prescription is filled through a mail-order method. By providing this service, YourRxCard.com plans to help lower the number of unnecessary prescription drugs their members are taking along with aiding them in finding the most effective and lowest priced prescription drugs available for their needs.
