Police Consider Charges Against Teens in Break-In
BELFAST – City police are considering filing charges against six juveniles who were apprehended while attempting to break into a camp on City Point Road Monday evening.
Patrolman Bryan Cunningham said the three boys and three girls were caught after a neighbor observed their activities and called police at 5:35 p.m. Cunningham said the group smashed a door window with a log, and were in the process of breaking through an inside screen when he and Sgt. Walter Corey arrived at the camp.
Cunningham said the group included 17- and 16-year-old boys from Brewer, a 15-year-old boy from Frankfort, 13-year-old twin girls from Northport and a 13-year-old girl from Belfast. The girls were turned over to the twins’ mother and the boys were advised to go home.
The incident remains under investigation.
