South Connellsville Declares Emergency
The mayor of South Connellsville last night declared a state of emergency in the Fayette County borough after heavy rains flooded roads and damaged buildings.
Mayor Peter Casini ordered those whose foundations were damaged to evacuate their homes until the structures were inspected, according to a written proclamation issued at 8 p.m. The proclamation also noted flooding of roads, drainage ditches and basements.
The emergency declaration is scheduled to last until 8 p.m. Monday.
