Two More Critical Care Doctors Resign From Winnipeg’s Grace Hospital

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority says it’s working with Grace Hospital to maintain adequate health care after two more doctors on the critical-care unit resigned.
Doctors Bojan Baunovic and David Easton have cancelled their shifts in the hospital’s intensive care unit, but the health region won’t say why.
Another doctor resigned earlier this month citing the care of 84-year-old Samuel Golubchuk as the reason.
Doctors at the hospital are unhappy that Golubchuk is being kept alive on life support, but his family says taking him off would violate his beliefs as an Orthodox Jew.
The health authority’s Heidi Graham says it is working with the remaining critical-care doctors to make sure all patient needs are met.
A trial to determine whether Golubchuk should remain on life support is set for September.
