Name Change for Historic Hospital

June 18, 2008

HEALTH managers are renaming Llandough Hospital to mark this year’s 75th anniversary of the hospital.

The new name will be University Hospital Llandough to reflect links with the training of medical students and history of academic research.

Simon Jones, chairman, Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust, said: “The new name recognises the important role Llandough Hospital plays in developing future health professionals for Wales, many of whom continue to provide care for people in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan for years to come. We are proud of the strong links between healthcare and Cardiff University and renaming is a way of recognising the partnership.”
