Komen Chapter Announces Grants — Funds Raised By Race for the Cure Going to 14 Groups

The Memphis-MidSouth chapter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure announced grants totaling $865,000 will go to 14 local organizations. The funds were raised at the group’s annual Race for the Cure as well as other events.

The money will go to:

Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women, $242,000.

Julie B. Baier Foundation, $100,000.

Church Health Center, $85,852.

Wings Cancer Foundation, $80,000.

West Tennessee Area Health Education Center, $76,675.

Christ Community Health Services, $75,300.

DeSoto Health & Wellness Center, $50,000.

Tipton County Commission on Aging Project LEAP, $37,524.

Urban Health Education and Support Services, $33,000.

Children and Family Services, $31,000.

Memphis Cancer Foundation, $30,000.

Komen’s Small Grant Pool, $10,000.

Tennessee Men’s Health Network, $8,649.

Necessities Inc., $5,000.
