Have a Say About Health
AN event was being held today to find views on the future of new GP and health services.
People are being asked to share their opinions on the development of health centres in Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland to improve access to GP and other health care services.
NHS North of Tyne, a management team working across Newcastle Primary Care Trust, North Tyneside PCT and Northumberland Care Trust launched a three-month public consultation which will run until August 5, 2008.
The event was being held from 1pm to 3pm, at Briardale Community and Learning Centre, Briardale Road, Cowpen, Blyth.
The three health centres will each include GP services providing bookable and walk-in appointments, available from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
Dr Mike Guy, medical director for NHS North of Tyne, said: “These new services are aimed at providing more flexibility and greater choice.”
