New Era Healthy Habits Club; Tai Chi, Stress Free
Posted on: Wednesday, 20 April 2005, 15:00 CDT
Got stress?
Got stiffness?
Got an hour every Wednesday in May?
Why not give tai chi a try?
The Lancaster General Wellness Center will hold a tai chi class 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, May 4 to 25, at the Lancaster General Health Campus, 2100 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster.
The ancient Chinese form of martial arts incorporates slow and gentle movements and breath work to promote flexibility and reduce stress. Tai chi is considered a form of meditation that can improve overall health and well-being and enhance your mind-body connection.
Tai chi, or taiji, is known as "meditation in motion" and is closely related to another form of Chinese exercise, qi gong.
The class will be taught by David S. Haines, who has offered community and corporate workshops since 1988.
Cost is $40.
For more information, contact program coordinator Mary LeVasseur, 544-3285.
