Storey Facing New Inquiry

FORMER Liverpool council leader Mike Storey is under investigation over claims he leaked a colleague's health problems to the press.

The Standards Board for England has widened the remit of its ongoing inquiry into whether Cllr Storey, and Liverpool's current council leader Warren Bradley, broke strict rules last year.

The inquiry relates to their conduct towards Jason Harborow, then chief executive of the Culture Company, during the fall-out from the cancellation of the Mathew Street festival.

The Daily Post understands it is investigating allegations Cllr Storey gave details of Mr Harborow's illness to the press when he was off sick.

Cllr Storey said: "The Echo informed me Jason Harborow was in hospital and I commented I could not tell them that information and they would have to go to a higher authority for confirmation of that."
