Arcadian Health Plan Addresses Medicare Doctor Payment Cuts
OAKLAND, Calif., June 30 /PRNewswire/ — As most doctors face the Congressionally mandated 10 percent cut in Medicare payments next week, Arcadian Health Plan, Inc. announced that it will maintain payments to their contracted network physicians at the same level of payment as before the mandated cuts. Arcadian is committed to supporting its physician partners as they continue to provide excellent healthcare services to our members.
Arcadian recognizes the value and quality of its contracted provider network. As an HMO, these doctors serve the essential function of guiding Arcadian’s more than 42,000 members through the complex world of health care.
Dr. Austin stated, “While Arcadian works hard at cost control, we feel these cuts would be counterproductive, especially for primary care physicians. Managing the cost of health care in a way that supports the interest of our patients is highly dependent on working cooperatively with our physicians. Such cuts do not make affordable care more available to our members in the areas we serve.”
Founded in 1996 by John Austin, M.D., Arcadian Health Plan, Inc. is a national Medicare Advantage health plan provider with headquarters in Oakland, Calif. Arcadian’s locally managed health plans are offered in areas of Washington, Arizona, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Maine.
Members of all Arcadian’s health plans can rest assured that their doctors will not suffer a decrease in pay for the services they provide.
