Eight Join WRH Staff

WADSWORTH — Eight new members have joined the medical staff at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. They are Mehrdad Asgeri, M.D.; Babiker O. Eltayeb, M.D.; John F. Jacobs, M.D.; Christine I. Lee, D.O.; Melanie L. Leu, M.D.; Asha L. Patnaik, M.D.; Karl D. Schwarze, M.D.; Rose M. Seliga, M.D.

Asgeri is a board-certified Internal medicine specialist. He earned his medical degree from Tabriz University of Medical Services in Iran. He completed his internship and residency at Huron Hospital in Cleveland.

Patnaik is a board-certified Internal medicine specialist. She earned her medical degree from Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, India. She completed her internship and residence at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in Bronx, N.Y.

Asgeri and Patnaik practice in association with Inpatient Medical Services and provide hospitalist services at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital.

Eltayeb is a board-certified nephrology specialist. He earned his medical degree from the University of Khartoum in Sudan. He completed his internship at the Teaching Hospital of the University of Khartoum in Sudan. He completed residency training at King Khalid General Hospital and the Riyadh Armed Forces Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He also completed residency training at the Royal Liverpool University & Affiliated Hospitals in Liverpool, England, and the Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia. He also completed a fellowship in nephrology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Jacobs is a board-certified nephrology specialist. He earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond. He completed his internship and residency at Affiliated Hospitals in Ann Arbor, Mich. He also completed a fellowship in nephrology at University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor.

Lee is a board-certified nephrology specialist. She earned her medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens. She completed her internship at Brentwood Hospital & Health Care in Cleveland and her residency at Meridia South Pointe Hospital in Cleveland. She completed a fellowship in nephrology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

Schwarze is a board-certified nephrology specialist who also is board-certified in internal medicine and critical care. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He completed his internship and residency at Wayne State Affiliated Hospitals in Detroit. He also completed a fellowship in nephrology at Baylor Affiliated Hospitals in Houston.

Seliga is a board-certified nephrology specialist. She earned her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown. She completed her internship and residency at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron and a fellowship in nephrology at University Hospitals in Cleveland.

Leu is a board-certified family practice specialist. She earned her medical degree from Case Western University in Cleveland. She completed her internship and residency at Ohio State University.
