IT Chief Wins Safety Award

A COMPUTER expert at Liverpool Women’s Hospital has won a major IT award for introducing new systems that improve safety for all patients.
Dr Zafar Chaudry, IT director of Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, beat competition from across the public and private sector to scoop the award.
The judges singled out the work done by Dr Chaudry and his team in delivering a major project on time and on budget which has resulted in improved patient care and speedy access to data.
Dr Chaudry said: “I am delighted because it shows that NHS organisations can deliver cutting edge projects despite the negative publicity.”
