Drop in on Lighthouse to Raise Money for Charity

July 2, 2008

MARIE Curie Cancer Care is now recruiting people from across Merseyside for their Leasowe Lighthouse abseil. The event takes place on Sunday, August 10 on the north Wirral Coast. Suitable for beginners or experienced abseilers, and open to ages 12 and above, the abseil will be a dramatic drop of approximately 110ft with stunning views across the estuary.

Fundraiser Antony Jones said: “Halewood couple Brian and Vicky Powell used the event to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary last year, by abseiling in full bride and groom attire. 2008 is Marie Curie Cancer Care’s 60th anniversary, why not come along and take part in 60′s fancy dress, or dressed as a super hero to help us celebrate 60 years of care provided by our super hero nurses. We have a team of the best instructors who will instil confidence even in those participants who are scared of heights.”
