Wraps Off New Medical Centre Plans

DETAILS of a pounds 2m proposed new state-of-the-art Ruabon primary care medical centre will be unveiled at Penycae Infants school on Monday Representatives from Ruabon Medical Centre, North Wales NHS Trust, Wrexham Social Services, Clwyd Community Health Council, Oakapple Primary Care Properties, and the Local Health Board will talk about the plans and give presentations at 3.15pm and 6.30pm. The event starts at 2.45pm.

Wrexham Local Health Board chief executive Geoff Lang said: "The purpose of this event is to update patients of Ruabon Medical Centre and community representatives on the progress we have made.

The new facility, if approved, will be constructed on the same site as the existing surgery off High Street.

It consists of GP and nurse consulting rooms, treatment rooms, minor operations facility, additional office accommodation for the practice, and accommodation for North Wales NHS Trust staff, including District Nurses and Health Visitors and a pharmacy.

Full planning approval has been secured.

The open event will enable patients to view plans of the new building.
