Hawaiian Day Raises Smiles

July 6, 2008

Dental patients felt more relaxed as they received treatment yesterday as practice staff dressed in Hawaiian skirts.

Staff at Meir Dental Centre in Penfleet Avenue, Meir, dressed in Hula-Hula clothes to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the NHS and American Independence Day.

Patients made donations which will benefit the Ronald McDonald house charity and Cancer Research.

There was also a lucky dip.

Practice manager Lucy O’Reilly said: “The patients loved it. They asked us to keep the decorations up in the practice for an extra week, as they said it was all making them feel more relaxed.

“It was good to raise money for worthy causes. The patients were generous.”
