Grab the Gaff: Fishing tournament to benefit Palm Beach Gardens High School five-star magnet program is Sunday. A meeting for the captains will start at 7 p.m. Friday at Newcomb Hall at the Riviera Beach Marina. $200 per boat. Heaviest fish wins $1,500. Call (561) 694-7317.

Regional surfing competition: Erica Elliott, of Palm Beach Gardens, took fifth place in the women ages 18-29 division at the competition in St. Augustine this month. This is her first year competing.

5K run: Jupiter's annual Turtle Trot starts at 8 a.m. May 7 at Carlin Park, 400 S. State Road A1A. First 400 receive free windshirts; awards will be given for first male runner and first female runner and the top three for each age group. $20. Call (561) 741-2400.

Water fitness: Shallow water aerobics, 9:30-10:30 a.m., Mondays and Wednesdays; shallow aqua stretch, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays; deep-water aerobics 6:15-7:15 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Benefit Golf tourney: Place of Hope's annual Golf Classic and Charity auction will be Sunday and Monday at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club and Spa in Jupiter. The event is limited to 18 foursomes and will feature a breakfast and awards luncheon at the tournament on Monday and a dinner and silent auction on Sunday. All proceeds benefit Place of Hope, a faith-based nonprofit organization that cares for local foster children. Call (561) 775-7195.

Palm Beach Gardens Recreation, 4404 Burns Road, offers youth soccer clinic, men's 30 and older soccer, 7 vs. 7 coed soccer, adult flag football, Ultimate Frisbee, slow-pitch coed softball, men's softball, yoga, volleyball, tai chi, Pilates, Fit Fun for 50 and older, men's basketball, karate for 6 years and older, gymnastics for ages 3 and older, and skate lessons at a park.
