You Say: Side Effects

I READ the article on Chinese medicine and the side effects Mrs Tarbuck suffered (Chinese medicine nearly killed me, ECHO, April 27). It is worth noting that virtually all medicine carries the risk of side effects.
My pack of Ibuprofen lists possible side effects including stomach pain, nausea, indigestion and occasionally stomach ulcer, itchy or swollen skin, blood disorders, liver problems, headache, dizziness and hearing disturbances.
I would be interested to know how many people suffer from these side effects from a medicine that is available off the shelf in most supermarkets.
My wife has lived all of her life with eczema, which western medicine has been unable to clear.
Within a few treatments consisting of acupuncture, washes in a preparation of various barks, herb teas and ointment, the symptoms cleared.
I can only speak for my wife, but Chinese medicine changed her life for the better
