DC Brands to Focus Solely on More Health Conscience Brands

Today, DC Brands International, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: DCBR) announced that they will be solely focusing on their new line of H.A.R.D. Nutrition Functional Water Systems drinks for several reasons. This decision is primarily due to the recent onslaught of bad press on traditional energy drinks linking them to many health concerns. The company’s CEO Richard Pearce said, “Since our decision to bring H.A.R.D. Nutrition to market, the more involved we have become over the past year with our health practitioners, doctors and medical experts. Their view of the traditional energy drink market is quite different from the general public. Still ringing in my ears are the words one juvenile diabetes doctor made just a few months ago when we were discussing our new line of H.A.R.D. Nutrition health oriented products. She commented about our Dickens and Turn Left products saying, ‘With phenomenal products like H.A.R.D. Nutrition, what are you doing still selling this garbage?’ She then said, ‘I bet you within the next decade the traditional energy drink market will look very much like the tobacco and fast food industries do today.’”

Pearce continues, “It was not the first time we heard similar comments with respect to the traditional high sugar, high caffeine energy drinks and despite some unforeseeable and frustrating delays in finalizing our distributor network, we remain steadfast in the belief of our new line. It is not those comments that have led us to this decision, it is the fact that we need to drive a stake in the ground and provide one clear and consistent message. Facts are that we will still be in the energy drink market with our Wide Awake and Whacked Energy products. However, they are just new, healthier alternatives to traditional energy drinks. The excitement behind that brand is what is propelling the company forward and quite frankly we see it as our future. We understand that a lot of our shareholders want some clearer information, but they will have to hang in there and understand that what is about to happen is well worth the wait. Those uncomfortable with that should, as always, make the decision they believe best for themselves. However, our company feels very confident that we have a bright future ahead.”
