WASHINGTON, July 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Patient Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC) released the following statement on yesterday's Senate passage of the Medicare bill, which includes a provision for a $100 million demonstration project for the patient-centered medical home model:
"The bill's inclusion of additional funding for expansion of patient-centered medical home demonstration projects in Medicare was a key legislative focus for PCPCC, so we are delighted with its passage," said Edwina Rogers, PCPCC's executive director and vice president of health policy, The ERISA Industry Committee. "We are also pleased that there is a provision to authorize the Secretary of Health and Human Services to expand these projects to become full-scale pilots if they are shown to be successful. This is a significant advancement to our efforts to advance the patient-centered medical home model."
