Symbiosis to Open Bangalore Campus

PUNE: The city-based Symbiosis International University's (SIU) newly set up campus at Bangalore will be inaugurated by minister for human resource development Arjun Singh at 5 pm on July 11.

Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa will preside over the function, while Karnataka minister for higher education Aravind Limbavali, Karnataka state planning board's deputy chairman D.H. Shankaramurthy and MP Ananth Kumar will attend the ceremony. The campus, with a total construction area of 3.5 lakh sq ft, is spread over a four-acre expanse located at the electronic city, better known as Bangalore's IT hub.

The campus will house Symbiosis Institute of Business Management and the Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning. The facilities on offer include well-equipped classrooms, auditorium, library, computers, laboratory, gymnasium, indoor sports centre, yoga and aerobic hall besides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls.
