Jul. 14–SEABROOK TOWN NOTEBOOK

The search for a new town manager is coming to an end, with one expected in by early August.

Selectmen interviewed four candidates, all with extensive experience managing municipalities, according to Selectman Brendan Kelly. An offer was made to and accepted by the candidate that rose to the top of the interview list, he said, and the final checks and reviews are being done before the individual will come on board.

Kelly said current Town Manager Scott Dunn has agreed to stay on until the new individual is able to take over, a courtesy the selectmen appreciate. Dunn was due to leave last week, after resigning two months ago for personal reasons.

The Seabrook Recreation Commission’s meetings are now telecast over Channel 22, as are the rest of the town’s regular meetings. The Recreation Commission will meet the second Tuesday of every month. Its first live meeting broadcast took place last Tuesday.

The commission agreed to change its traditional Thursday meeting dates to the second Tuesday of each month and move its meetings from Seabrook’s Recreation Center to Town Hall to allow taping and broadcasting of its meetings. Although the meetings are broadcast as they take place, they are also taped to run at various times during the month on Channel 22, Seabrook’s cable access station.

The new schedule of Recreation Commission meetings is as follows: Tuesdays, Aug. 12, Sept. 19, Oct. 14, Nov. 11 and Dec. 19.

The meetings are open to the public.
