Man Who Nearly Drowned Trying to Save Boy is Named

Jul. 14–A 19-year-old man remains hospitalized after nearly drowning in an apartment complex swimming pool Sunday.

Brandon Thompson was pulled from the bottom of a swimming pool at the West Oaks Apartments after trying to save a 10-year-old boy who could not swim, according to the sheriff’s office. Family members went into the pool to pull out the boy and later found Thompson at the bottom of the pool.

Thompson was taken to Health Central Hospital where he remains.
