Today, Central Logic Healthcare Systems announced that St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, a Catholic Healthcare West hospital located in Phoenix, AZ, has implemented Central Logic's patient transfer center software, ForeFront Transfer(TM).
ForeFront Transfer is designed to streamline interfacility patient transfers and facilitate critical transfer information for physicians and hospital administrative personnel. It enables hospital and medical staff to take physician referral calls and correlate patient admissions enabling quick, accurate decisions based on individual patients' needs, doctor availability and the facility's ability to accommodate a new patient.
"Using ForeFront Transfer will help us efficiently coordinate each transfer request by seamlessly connecting sending physicians with St. Joseph's medical staff," said Leigh Naig, Executive Director of Revenue Services at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. "It will also give us improved reporting capabilities so we can make certain our transfer process is providing maximum benefit for both patients and staff."
St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center has served the people of Arizona since 1895. Originally a six-room cottage dedicated to treating tuberculosis patients, the hospital, now the largest in Arizona, is a Level 1 Trauma Center and is home to the renowned Barrow Neurological Institute.
According to Scott Jordan, Central Logic's Vice President of Client Services, St. Joseph's decision to implement ForeFront Transfer reflects the significance that hospitals place upon the necessity to be efficient and competitive. "St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is nationally recognized for its excellence in patient care, education and research. They also rank in the top 100 hospitals by Thomson Healthcare in the areas of excellence in clinical outcomes, patient safety, financial performance and efficiency. The addition of ForeFront Transfer will enhance St. Joseph's reputation as a leader in the healthcare industry."
Catholic Healthcare West, headquartered in San Francisco, CA, employs more than 50,000 people, including over 9,500 physicians and specialists, in a system of 41 hospitals and medical centers in Arizona, California and Nevada. It is the eighth largest hospital system in the nation.
