Endocrinologist Joins Staff at Southern Maine Medical

Dr. Christine Handanos, endocrinologist, has joined the active medical staff at Southern Maine Medical Center.

An internal medicine physician, Handanos is a graduate of McGill University and the University of Vermont College of Medicine.

She completed her internship and residency at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology.

Handanos was previously an assistant professor at the University of New Mexico and Interim Director of the VA Women’s Clinic.

Her special medical interests include endocrine disorders such as osteoporosis, thyroid diseases, diabetes and other hormonal disorders.

Handanos will care for patients at PrimeCare Internal Medicine, 30 West Cole Road.
