Debby’s Pounds 2,500 Heads to Charity
A MERSEYSIDE mother-of-two has raised pounds 2,500 by cutting her hair off for charity.
Debby Henery, a theatre assistant at Arrowe Park hospital, opted to celebrate her 40th birthday by hosting a charity evening and took the plunge after deciding she wanted a celebration with a difference.
The money raised is going to both Macmillan Cancer Support and The Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Clatterbridge hospital, with the hair being donated to the Little Princesses Trust which makes wigs for children who have had cancer treatment or suffer from alopecia.
Debby, from Wallasey, said: “I thought how amazing the rehabilitation unit had been with my husband Peter in helping him after his stroke, as well as how many dear friends we have sadly lost to cancer.”
