PITTSBURGH (AP) — A baby boy who was cut from his slain mother’s womb has been released from a western Pennsylvania hospital.

A spokeswoman for West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh confirmed Tuesday that the baby had been released. She declined to say who has custody of the child.

Andrea Curry-Demus, 38, is charged with homicide, kidnapping and related offenses in an alleged plot to steal the baby. Police say they found the body of the child’s mother, 18-year-old Kia Johnson, bound in Curry-Demus’ home last week.

The family has named the boy Terrell Kian Johnson, after his mother.
