Cell Genesys to Webcast Second Quarter 2008 Conference Call

Cell Genesys, Inc. (Nasdaq:CEGE), today announced that Stephen A. Sherwin, M.D., chairman and chief executive officer, and Sharon E. Tetlow, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Cell Genesys, will host a conference call relating to the company's second quarter financial results that will be broadcast live over the internet on Friday, August 1, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. PT/ 4:30 p.m. ET.
The webcast will be available on the investor relations section of the company's website, www.cellgenesys.com. Cell Genesys is focused on the development and commercialization of novel biological therapies for patients with cancer. The company is currently pursuing two clinical stage product platforms-GVAX(R) cancer immunotherapies and oncolytic virus therapies. Ongoing clinical trials include Phase 3 trials of GVAX immunotherapy for prostate cancer, which is being developed in partnership with Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, Phase 2 trials of GVAX immunotherapies for pancreatic cancer and for leukemia, and a Phase 1 trial of CG0070 oncolytic virus therapy for bladder cancer.
