Hospital Ward Will Benefit From Ball

July 28, 2008

FORMER patients, raffle and auction prizes are being sought for the first summer ball in aid of a ward which cares for people with blood disorders.

The haematology ward at Coventry’s University Hospital in Walsgrave, looks after people with conditions including leukaemia and sickle cell anaemia.

Staff nurse Sue Cooper and support worker Lyn Manning have organised the ball at the Hilton Hotel, Coventry, on Friday, August 22.

Now they are hoping companies and individuals will provide some prizes for the night’s raffle and auction.

Lyn said: “This is the very first ball because we decided we wanted to do something where we could all celebrate what we achieve on the ward, and let people know that.”

Tickets are pounds 30 which includes a three-course meal, disco, raffle and an auction to follow.
