SSM St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles Recognized for Stroke Care

SSM St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles has been recognized by the American Stroke Association for the hospital’s performance in treating stroke patients using the association’s Get With The Guidelines program. The hospital received the program’s Silver Award for treating and discharging patients for 12 consecutive months at 85 percent or higher according to the program’s guidelines.

According to the health center, GWTG is a hospital-based, quality improvement program designed to ensure that hospitals consistently care for stroke patients following the most up-to-date guidelines and recommendations.
