Jul. 27–SUMMIT HILLS NAMES WELLNESS COORDINATOR: Summit Hills, an upscale continuing care retirement community in Spartanburg, has announced the promotion of Tonya Ray to wellness coordinator.
Ray will be responsible for implementing standards of exercise, wellness and senior health on the Summit Hills campus. She also will design age-appropriate fitness classes and perform personal training to help residents build or maintain strength, balance, flexibility and endurance.
Ray has been with the Summit Hills family for nine years, working previously part time as a medical technician.
SUSAN SCHMIDT BIES SELECTED FOR FEI HALL OF FAME: Financial Executives International, a national trade association for corporate executives, has announced Susan Schmidt Bies of Landrum as an inductee for its Hall of Fame class 2008.
Bies, a former member of the Board of Governors for the Federal Reserve, was recognized for displaying performance, leadership and integrity throughout her career.
She will be honored at the FEI Hall of Fame Gala Dinner on Nov. 17 in New York.
Spartanburg Chapter IMA to meet Tuesday
The Institute of Management Accountants Spartanburg Chapter will hold its monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at The Piedmont Club.
A lunch buffet will be served and guest speaker David Keeling, senior vice president and mortgage director for First Citizens Bank, will address the mortgage market and its effect on the economy.
