RMH Selects Medhost Software to Increase Patient Safety

Medhost, a provider of process management technology, has announced that Rice Memorial Hospital has selected its software for its emergency department as part of its hospital-wide efforts to switch to electronic documentation, ensure efficient patient care, and increase patient safety and satisfaction.

Rice Memorial Hospital (RMH) will install Medhost’s new release, version 4.1, which integrates The Sullivan’s patented and Patient Risk and Safety module as well as First DataBank’s OrderView Med Knowledge Base.

This feature-rich version includes powerful decision support functionality, point-of-care risk alerts and CPOE-ready drug content that allows physicians to quickly, yet accurately order medications. Medhost 4.1 furthers patient safety initiatives by reducing risk and adverse drug events.

RMH will use Medhost to electronically enter and access patient information in real time anywhere in the emergency department. Medhost’s intuitive system eliminates excessive typing and is free of cumbersome drop down menus, so clinicians can quickly document patient care using its unique touch screen interface.
