Former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle to Deliver Keynote at Misys Healthcare Annual Conference & Expo
Misys Healthcare Systems, a market leader in healthcare IT, today announced that former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle will deliver the keynote presentation at the Misys Healthcare Annual Conference & Expo in Washington, D.C. on August 1, 2008. Mr. Daschle, now a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, will discuss the current state of the healthcare industry and what needs to be done to curb spending and provide all Americans with access to high-quality healthcare.
In his new book, "Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis," Mr. Daschle suggests establishing a Federal Reserve-like health board to control U.S. healthcare spending. The board, which would work within a private health care system framework, would operate more effectively and efficiently by being insulated from political pressure, while accountable to elected officials and the American people.
