MemorialCare Health System, one of the top integrated systems in the United States, and Salem Hospital Regional Health Services, one of the largest acute-care providers in Oregon, have licensed Zynx Health's Executable Knowledge(R) Manager to develop and manage evidence-based rules, alerts, and physician order sets for integration into their Epic clinical information systems.
MemorialCare, a 5-hospital system in Southern California, selected Zynx Health to support its system-wide effort to integrate evidence-based medicine into clinician workflow. MemorialCare has initiated efforts to incorporate best-practice medicine, nursing, and technology into patient care. The use of Zynx Health's evidence-based solutions within its Epic Systems will support MemorialCare's transition from paper to the digital age of medicine.
Salem Hospital Regional Health Services selected Zynx Health to support its strategic plan to enhance quality of care and improve patient safety. "The integration of Zynx Health clinical knowledge solutions into our Epic System will enable Salem Hospital to aggressively pursue the first of our strategic core commitments: clinical quality that is second to none," says Dennis Sato, chief information officer for Salem Hospital. "Our strategic plan calls for the use of information technology to enhance quality of care and improve safety, especially for systems which can assist in decision-making at the bedside. Zynx Health solutions will help us bring best practices to the bedside while increasing clinicians' efficiency and acceptance of our larger health information technology initiatives." Salem Hospital will begin implementing Zynx Health solutions in June 2005.
"We are very excited about the opportunity to work with MemorialCare and Salem Hospital," says Scott Weingarten, MD MPH, president and chief executive officer of Zynx Health. "Both organizations can now integrate Zynx Health clinical knowledge solutions into clinicians' workflow to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of patient care. They can also use our clinical knowledge to support compliance with regulatory initiatives and optimization of pay-for-performance reimbursement."
