Blood drives: The Rhode Island Blood Center conducts blood drives at the South County Donor Center, 14 Woodruff Ave., Narragansett, each Monday and Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
Anyone donating blood at any of the center’s locations during the last two weeks of July will be entered into a drawing for two pairs of tickets to the Newport Folk Festival, Aug. 2; and three pairs of tickets to the Newport Jazz Festival, Aug. 10.
Blood pressure clinics: The Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol Counties conducts free blood pressure clinics the first Thursday of the month, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Jamestown Library, 26 North Rd., Jamestown. For information, call 423-7280.
Mental health support: The South County affiliate of the National Alliance for Mental Illness sponsors a support group for friends and family members of people with mental illness the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Beechwood House Senior Center, 10 Beach St., North Kingstown.
