A Cool Tool to Boost Your Workout
By Stephenson, Marissa
we saw it first Starting this month, gym-goers can take advantage of Nike+. The sneaker sensor that sends workout details to your iPod will soon be compatible with stair steppers, treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes at 30 24 Hour Fitness clubs nationwide. If you have the chip in your shoe, you just insert your iPod into a machine's dashboard and it will record stats like calories burned, miles covered, and your average heart rate. When you get home, upload your workout info to nikeplus.com, where you can track your mileage on every machine. Not a 24 Hour Fitness member? Companies like Precor, Life Fitness, and StarTrac will unveil home versions Of these machines this month. -M.S.
