Bupa Appoints Key Executive

August 2, 2008

Bupa, a provider of health insurance products in the UK, has appointed Natalie-Jane Macdonald as managing director of its UK health insurance business.

Ms Macdonald’s appointment follows changes announced recently by Bupa’s new chief executive, Ray King, in which former UK Membership managing director Fergus Kee became managing director of UK and North America operations.

Ms Macdonald has worked in the company’s insurance business for the past nine years, most recently as medical director of UK Membership and managing director of Bupa Commissioning.

Ms Macdonald reports to Fergus Kee, who is responsible for Bupa UK Membership, Clinovia, which provides out-of-hospital care; Health Dialog, a US and UK provider of chronic condition management and health coaching services to help patients; Bupa Cromwell Hospital and Bupa Commissioning following Bupa’s appointment in 2007 to the Department of Health’s Framework for Procuring External Support for Commissioners.

Mr Kee said: “The combination of Natalie’s experience in both medicine and healthcare will enable her to develop and grow our UK insurance business for the benefit of our customers.”
