Newsmaker: Mary Suleski

Occupation: Suleski, now retired, ran her own grocery store for 20 years and later worked in a pharmacy for 18 years.
Noteworthy: Canonsburg General Hospital recently recognized Suleski and several other volunteers for their many hours of volunteer service. Suleski, the longest serving volunteer, has served more than 26 years, donating more than 5,800 hours of service. She has scaled back her hours to one day a week and helps out by delivering mail, selling newspapers, making charts and visiting with patients.
Quote: “I enjoy working there with the people, and I see all the people in the hospital. I think some of the patients are glad to see us. Some of them don’t get visitors.”
