Cardiovascular Associates, P.C. Selects ProVation MD Software for Cardiology Procedure Documentation and Coding Compliance
Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today that Cardiovascular Associates, P.C. (CVA) has selected ProVation(R) MD software for Cardiology procedure documentation and coding. The software will be used to document Catheterization, Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography procedures at six CVA sites throughout central Alabama.
ProVation(R) MD software for procedure documentation and coding compliance replaces dictation/transcription and streamlines the coding and billing process. Unlike Cardiovascular Information Systems (CVIS), which collect patient measurements and administrative data, ProVation MD allows clinicians to quickly and completely document medical procedures at the point of care, then applies the appropriate reimbursement codes to drive compliance and revenue recovery. ProVation MD interfaces with cardiovascular nursing, imaging and measurement systems to complete the electronic documentation process and free busy cardiologists and technologists from time-consuming dictation.
Centered in Birmingham, Alabama, CVA is a group of 29 cardiologists who provide care at nine different locations. Founded in 1946 by Dr. John B. Burnett, the first cardiologist to practice in the state of Alabama, CVA now includes nationally recognized experts as well as recently trained cardiologists specializing in an array of diagnosis and treatment options. CVA is one of the largest and most respected cardiovascular practices in the Southeast.
“CVA’s distinguished clinicians, state-of-the-art facilities, and use of technological solutions like CVIS and echo and nuclear imaging systems enable us to offer advanced treatment and diagnosis of cardiovascular disease,” said Bill Cockrell, Administrator, CVA. “ProVation software rounds out our electronic workflow, eliminating dictation for physicians and allowing us to streamline administrative processes and ensure compliant coding and reimbursement.”
“CVA is a leader in cardiovascular care,” said Arvind Subramanian, CEO, Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical Solutions and ProVation Medical. “We are extremely pleased that they’ve chosen our software for Cardiology procedure documentation across sub-specialties and at multiple CVA facilities.”
